Small white star shaped wild flowers. Name unknown at this time.
This plant is called a bunch berry. It is also called a dwarf dogwood. These were the red plants I was wondering about in the early spring.
Come to me.

Our lighted path to the lake just after dusk.

The lake is often as smooth as a mirror.

Wildflowers are in every field.
Crater Lake is unmarked on most maps, and has no road in. It's a short hike in to the cliff to view the lake.
Crater Lake. Seems like it's a difficult hike to see the falls as the trail turns away from the lake as you get lower down. We could just get glimpses of the falls through the trees.

Emma (my dog) is very excited to meet the great outdoors!
My lazy chair, looking forward to many hours there.
Emma checking out the taste of lake water.
I'm amazed at how far down the stems of the water lilies go.
My favourite spot, a great place to watch the lake go by.
We think this is a vole. He seemed quite at home in the campfire rocks. Finally settling down and having a long nap in the cranny of a warm rock.
Wild Strawberry bud.
Wild Strawberries growing everywhere!
Some kind of mushroon, quite yellow in colour, growing in the front field.
Wild violets growing right outside my door.
This little fellow, a friendly chipmunk, followed me around all afternoon.
Road crew clearing away loose rock before it falls to the road.
Honey, I'm going to be late.
Just past Spence's Bridge, leaving the coast mountains behind.
Last boat heads for home.
Day is done.
Trying to pull the poor horse away by her tail!
Guarding the horses.
Working dog at Canyon Ranch on the corner.
Wild cat! The kids saw a bobcat but I ended up with a feral cat.
Cows, cows, everywhere!
Saturday's cold blue sunset. Brrrr!
Beer Butt Chicken - why is the air horn there? To scare off hungry predators?
These tiny orchids are commonly known as Fairy Slippers.
Calypso orchid (Calypso bulbosa) are about 3 inches high.
Christopher put a protective ring around all the orchid patches.
Power me up! Heat and light!
Hungry Herbies - Best hamburgers ever! Hungry Herbies is in Cache Creek on the Trans Canada Highway.
Aspen without its leaves - I'm fascinated by these trees and hillsides. So unlike the landscape down here in Vancouver.
Our last look - Can't wait to go back!
Lingering Snow - You can see that there is just a bit of snow left here and there.
Ruby takes a mud bath - Took a couple of hours to power wash this mud off!
Little tundra ponds - In this area there are hundreds of ponds and little lakes.
Downtown 100 Mile House - This is the largest town to Pressy Lake, about an hour away. It has a small hospital and a couple of grocery and hardware stores.
Toasty - Keeping warm.
Pine trees removed - We were lucky, not a lot of pine trees on our property so we didn't lose as much to the pine beetle as some.
Beautiful in any Season - Our bit of heaven on earth.
Small reddish plant - Would love to know what this small red plant is that sends out shoots like a strawberry plant.
The Canoe - I need a red canoe!
Dusty Rose Pub - We went in and introduced ourselves. This is our nearest commercial neighbour, about a 20 minute drive. Steak sandwiches $6.95, satellite TV, and beer on tap. I'm sure the boys will be popping in to watch the game.
70 Mile House Store - Unfortunately the little grocery store (and liquor store) burned down this past December. This is the closest store to Pressy Lake. We've heard they will start rebuilding in the spring. Yay!
Beaver Lodge Iced In - There are beaver lodges in every little and big lake. How very Canadian!
Winter Arrived - the snow started falling the day we left
Lake along the way
Looking back - we're just beside the small forestry campsite here
Hillside across the Lake
At the mouth of the river
Tame birds - imagine our surprise when just holding out our hands brought these little visitors
